How should you choose a delivery skipper?
Qualifications are a floor rather than a selection criterion: of two equally certificated skippers, one may have run that route many times and the other never. The second criterion is technical competence.
Why it works this way
A skipper who can deal with a fault that appears on passage is the cheapest insurance on a delivery. References and route experience should always be asked for.
