What type of boat is most practical on the Turkish coast?
For the Aegean and Mediterranean coast, bay use and the summer meltemi decide: a mid-size boat with moderate draught, good shade and sound ground tackle ends up being the boat actually used.
Why it works this way
Too large and berthing and handling costs suppress use; too small and discomfort does. Since annual costs rise exponentially with length, the length decision sits at the centre of the budget.
