How long does a survey take and what does the report contain?
Field work usually runs from half a day to a full day depending on the size and scope; the written report is delivered the same day. The report covers hull, machinery, electrical and electronic systems, deck gear, safety equipment and documents; findings are graded by priority and supported with photographs.
Why it works this way
Duration is driven less by length than by access: a cramped engine room or a sole that has to come up adds hours another boat of the same length would not. Report delivery, however, does not wait — a verbal first assessment is given as soon as the field work ends and the written report reaches you the same day.
