How should I prepare my boat for survey day as a seller?
Access is the single thing that speeds a survey up: sole hatches that open, an engine room that can be entered and lockers that have been emptied save hours. Having the documents ready — registration, insurance, maintenance log, invoices — is the second accelerator.
Why it works this way
Trying to conceal a defect works against you. Instruments see a fresh repair regardless, and it goes into the report as "recently carried out" — which raises more questions than the original defect would have.
